Common Problems

  1. When you click to view a topic at the main screen, MyHomeTutor™ software exits and disappears from your screen.

    Solution
    MyHomeTutor™ software requires high (128-bit) encryption on your computer.
    1. Download Internet Explorer High Encryption Pack.
    2. Run and install Internet Explorer High Encryption Pack. Follow instructions on the installer to complete the installation process.

  2. After installation, the application does not display properly on your computer. The buttons on the right side of the application disappear.

    Solution
    1. Download the respective MyHomeTutor™ Update 1.2 below .
    2. Run and install the MyHomeTutor™ Update 1.2

  3. How to install and run MyHomeTutor™ Update CDs?

    Solution
    1. Close all MyHomeTutor™ applications.
    2. An Installation wizard should automatically appear.
    If it does not, select "Run" from the Windows Start Menu and type: "D:\launcher" where D: is the letter of your CD-ROM / DVD drive.
    3. Click on "Install" for each of the 3 updates listed.
    4. Reboot your machine after the installation to complete the update.

  4. When trying to view MyHomeTutor™ CD, e.g. P4A Mathematics Assessment, the below dialog box (Figure 4.1) pops up.

    Solution
    The above dialog box prompts for the insertion of the appropriate MyHomeTutor™ CD into your CD-ROM drive. Insert the CD as instructed, then click 'OK'. (Ensure the correct CD title is inserted).
    Note :  If the dialog box continues to appear even after you have inserted the CD, download and install the respective MyHomeTutor™ Update 1.3.1 below.

  5. When viewing MyHomeTutor™ product, the video of the teacher is blank.

    Problem
    MyHomeTutor™ software requires Window Media Player 8 codecs to be installed on your computer.

    Solution
    1. Get Windows Media Codecs 8.0.
    It can be downloaded here or run from MyHomeTutor™ product CD.
    Example "D:\codec\wmpcdcs8.exe", where D:\ is the letter of your CD-ROM Drive.
    2. Run and install Windows Media Codecs 8.0 (wmpcdcs8.exe).
